2:19am: Back in the world
Landed back from Peru Thursday afternoon, got home and had enough time to drop off backpacks and grab a quick bath before heading out again to see people, run errands etc... Have been running around since sorting stuff out.

Took about 1300 odd photos - whole trip was amazing, had great time with Chewie - Inca trail, Machu Picchu, Amazon Jungle etc... all fantastic - will try to post more details and a select section of the pics at some point soon. For now, need sleep then out again - sooo not enough time in the world!

Love to all :)

3:03am: Meaning of life stuff:

Is 42 the answer?

Is it ever too late to correct a mistake?

Jordan. Jusy Why?

Does love conquer all?

Are crisp packets now more half empty than they used to be?

When do you stop being young?

What are the oil of Olay seven signs of aging?

A Zen one: What did your face look like before you were born?

What was the best thing before sliced bread?

And finally, how long before this Nytol finally switches my brain off?!?

3rd September 2009

12:51am: Random...
My heart is heavy,
My mind awake,
Love asks it's levy,
My world to take.

Foolish years have gone,
Too many to list,
Time waits for none,
My chances missed.

Watched life fleet by,
Walked the unknown,
Now look back to my,
One life alone.

11:47pm: Ones I've come up with so far...
Michael Jackson's going to release a new Thriller video. He's going to be in one of the graves.

--

The O2 says tickets for the Michael Jackson concert are a dead loss.

--

Michael Jackson’s going to be cremated. It will be the first cremation process to create it’s own plastic container.

---

Ashes to ashes, dust to dust – Plastic to recycling area please.

Please add your own :D

5:14am: Tired
Just finished 24 hour shift (something happened, was needed, stayed on)...

Tired.

Just thinking I’ve worked 36 out of the last 48 hours. Going to go sleep, back at work later today.

Think I need to work less.

4:11pm: Grab that towel!
...and get ready to Hitch Hike the Galaxy again!

Heard this piece of good news a while ago and forgot to post. Eoin Colfer has been given permission to write the next part to The Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy!

He wrote about it at the end of the latest publication and sounded as excited as any true geek could be :)

I like Colfer's stuff and I think from the sounds of it he'll be perfect to write the continuing adventures of Arthur Dent.

Also looking forward to something that corrects the events in Mostly Harmless which always felt wrong. People have said Adam's was working on a sixth book when he died because he also had never been happy with the last book. Oh with luck we'll get Fenchurch back too! Yay!

Yay, happy geek :D

3:55am: New Star Trek Movie! IMAX!
Ooooohhhh awesome-ness!

It is geek-tastic awesomeness of the best kind. The new crew rock. Karl Urben, my hat is well an truely off, I was expecting something else but by god the man was channeling Deforest Kelly! New Kirk is indeed like a young kirk. Spock is Spock...and you don't know how difficult it was to not type Spork there.
Oh and Uhura....oooohhh...mmm... yes please open more hailing frequencies... ;)

Eric Bannna unfortunaltely not given enough script and screen time to do his magic.

Film rocks! Geek-tastic!

9:58pm: What I did over the weekend...
-
Had fun at Minami thanks to Chewie and Kitten :) Was a fun con, good people, pretty costumes. As with every other con I've been to, never actually got to any of the events, but there was a good bar, and I brought a small variation of mine aswell :)

Got dressed up on the Saturday, and had fun painting myself... A paint roller works quite well for painting your back, and using model paint in your hair isn't as bad an idea as it sounds (it was black, it was there, it worked ;)

Have found some costume pics of me from random flicker account :)

Vamp costume from MGS4 )

1:50am: Costuming
I'd forgotten how things always take longer with costumes than you think they will (especially when you keep jabbing yourself with a needle because you still haven't worked out that old sewing machine actually works)...

Vamp costume for the con is getting there but need to re-think some of the design bits. The elastic strapping for the leg armour isn't holding by itself so I'm going to grab some bigger eyelets tomorrow to secure it in and sew in the velcro. Also need to re-spray paint it.

Oh, and I discovered the wonders of machine dye! A small pack, some salt, and I have green straps... and a green polo shirt (I like green!).

Everything should get done, but will be cutting it closer than I would have liked.

10:39pm: 80's childrens show memories?
Does anyone remember what TV show the character 'Grotty Bags' was in, kind of a green witch. I recognised it in the picture but can't remember what the hell it was in.

I really need sleep before work.

6th March 2009

11:35pm: Tired
Worked 80 hours this week, and been awake for the last 35 hours of them doing back to back shifts, I'm going to bed....

5th December 2008

5:29am: To sleep, perchance... would be a fine thing ;)
Also, have had about three hours sleep in three days... I'm sure that's why every time I look in the mirror I've aged. It's not years... it's the hours :)
Current Mood: Slightly spaced 8)
4:58am: What happened to that year?
Eh? Where'd it go? It was here a minute ago I'm sure.

Apologies to everyone for not catching up. Was hoping to do a party or something this December but even the one or two weekends I'm supposed to have off have been cancelled so not looking likely :/

17th November 2008

3:21am: Bad brain
Why, when I finally do get a small chance to sleep, does my brain keep me awake?

I think it's broken, I want another one.

Mmmmm....brains.... ;)

3:05am: Hmmm...

Which Blake's 7 villain are you?

Hmmm... well I do look fabulous in tights ;)

Only just finished a 96 hour week, and in a few hours another one's starting. Sleep would be nice, but as they say... No rest for the wicked ;)

3:16pm: Is food poisoning a message from God?
...Or a sign the ingredients were Dog?

Got really nasty food poisoning at the beginning of the week and had all the fun and grimness that goes with it. Felt like the Exorcist meets Southpark. Couldn't even keep liquid down. Only beginning to feel a little better now. Able to keep food down but stomach's still very, very delicate and tender after having it's entire contents ejected for a couple of days. Think I'll stick to white pasta and toast for now.

I'm going to be really careful where I eat for a while, and no more delivery stuff unless it's from somewhere I know and trust. Taken a couple of days annual leave I had to let the body sort itself out. Trying to be productive but struggling to find the energy. Gah! Hate being ill - it's just such a waste of sodding time. I could be doing useful stuff...

On the up side I think I might have lost some of the weight I gained in America...and possibly some I gained in my teens....and possibly some internal organs... ;)
